10 UNCOMMON FILIPINO WORDS
As of today, we Filipinos are actually using the common words. They don’t even know that there are still lots of words that aren’t common as to our generation.
- Pahimakas – Last Farewell / Used to express good wishes on parting. sentence : Siya ay naghanda ng kaunting salu-salo para sa pahimakas ng kanyang anak.
- Payneta – Comb/ A strip of plastic,metal or word with a row narrow teeth used for untangling the hair. sentence: Ang payneta ni Anna ay marumi.
- Gat – Sir or Mr. / Formal term of address for man sentence : Nagbigay ng pagsusulit si Gat Dante kanina.
- Yakis – Sharpening / To make something sharp sentence : Si Tatay ay nag yakis ng kutsilyo.
- Badhi – Lines on the palm of the hand sentence: Binasa ng manghuhula ang aking badhi at sinabing maganda ang aking kinabukasan.
- Awanggan – Infinity or Limitless / The quality of having no limits or end sentence : Ang pag ibig ko sayo ay Awanggan.
- Kagaw – Bacteria / a microorganism causing disease sentence: Maghugas ka ng kamay mo para matanggal ang Kagaw.
- Panginain – Browser / Computer program ; browser sentence : Madalas na gamitin ngayon ang panginain sa pag gawa ng takdang aralin.
- Sipnayan – The science of numbers and their operations / Mathematics sentence : Maraming studyante ang hirap sa asignaturang Sipnayan.
- Anakula – Captain / A person who is in charge in the ship sentence : Ang aking asawa ay isang Anakula.
